Thorascopy

Thoracoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to examine the inside of the chest and pleural cavity using a small camera called a thoracoscope. It helps doctors identify the cause of unexplained chest or pleural problems and, when required, obtain tissue or fluid samples for further testing.Thoracoscopy may be used in the evaluation and management of conditions such as unexplained pleural effusion, pleural thickening, pleural infection, pneumothorax, and suspected pleural or lung cancer. It can provide valuable diagnostic information while avoiding the need for a larger surgical incision.
